Can you make a map box of anywhere in the world?
Absolutely! We can use a map you already own or source one for you. Please get in touch and we’ll get back to you with a quote and lead time.
Can you make a map box with just part of a map I own?
Yes! Use rulers or string to mark out the area on the map you would like featured in the map box and then take photos of this area; send us the map and the photos and we’ll do the rest.
How should I hang my map box?
All our map boxes are sent out with slotted mirror plate hangers fitted as standard, with the larger boxes using two D-hooks and picture framing cord. This means that all you have to do is fix a nail or screw into the wall where you want to hang the map box and you’re set! Get in touch if you have any doubts and we’ll be happy to help.
Can I return or exchange my map box?
If the map box you bought was from the online shop, you have 14 days to get in touch to request a return or exchange and ship the item back to us at your cost. In the highly unlikely event that the product is damaged in transit, of course we will refund you or remake the map box if another copy of the same map can be sourced.
Unfortunately, due to the bespoke nature of map boxes made to order, these items cannot be returned.
Do I need to care for my map box with oil or wax?
Your map box has been finished with oil and shouldn’t need any further care for some time. It can be oiled or waxed again in the future to refresh the timber. Just ask us for further advice.
Will my map box be up to date geographically?
It’s safe to assume that it won’t be. We generally use vintage maps; these range from over a century old to just several years, but most were printed several decades ago. We provide the year they’re from when possible.
